Book Group
This month’s book was How To Age Disgracefully by Clare Pooley. The book was a light-hearted book that was an easy read. Like Katy said, the end felt a bit rushed. Some people struggled with it as it was too light-hearted and felt it had little substance. Others thought it was a great pick me up. As a group we compared it to two previous reads - The lido and the people on platform 5 . All the books had a similar basic storyline. This book scored 7/10
Next meeting: Wednesday 19 November - Laycocks
Next Months book is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
Book Group Christmas meal Thursday 27 November 6.30 Ferdinandos Meadowhead.

October Social Events
Coffee morning: We enjoyed a hot drink and a scone at Martha Herritage, with lots of chatting and laughter.
Supper Club: A lovely meal provided at The Crown Inn Totley, the steak was reported to be very good. Another night will be arranged in February.
Quiz Night: Quiz night at The Robin Hood Pub Millhouses, went down very well and another one is planned for January
Social Events
As Social Events have grown we have decided to give them their own space rather than overload the general monthly news roundup. These updates will be emailed as necessary.
In the meantime, be prepared and complete the online Social Events Declaration form that must be filled in by anyone wishing to take part in an event. The Declaration can be completed online (you'll find it on the members page), or alternatively it can be completed during a monthly meeting.
For future events see Upcoming Social Events book online or at the Social Events Desk
Charity
Heeley City Farm have received a donation of £145.95 , which was the proceeds of our stall at their summer fair. We will continue to support the farm until the end of next September to bring our donations in line with the annual financial examination by SYFWI.
