Events Roundup
September was all about coffee, cake and books. We had a first coffee morning at New Leaf Garden centre . The photo looks like we were being good but by the time the photo was taken we'd all eaten cake or scones.

On Monday 22nd September of September we had a fabulous day visiting Portico Library in Manchester that was founded in 1806. We were shown round the library including some very old books, had a scrumptious lunch and learnt we can adopt a book. This may be something we look into at a later date. We found a quirky bookshop too.

Event coordinators
A few members have offered to help run the events which will be a big help going forward. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help run social events.
If anyone else would like to help organise some events, please contact Gill. The more people we have helping ,the more we can do.
Thank you.
We came up with a great list of ideas at the pub meet. We are going to be so busy! The list of the ideas we have had so far will be available at the next WI meeting. All our events must be either free ,pay on the day or book your own ticket. We will look into all events suggested. Please feel free to message me with other ideas. The list is available on The forge WI social WhatsApp chat and I'll share this at the next WI meetings.
Here are some of the highlights

Coffee mornings are back and will be planned for the second Monday of the month about 10am.
At the WI meeting there will be a list for people to add their name against a coffee morning they would like to organise. You don't have to book the venue yet . Just say you will organise which month. The success of our coffee mornings will depend on sharing the organising of them.
Social events table
The social events table is back. Please come and visit the table and see what we have planned. You will still need to RSVP on the website if you would like to join us on any event.
We will be looking to see if the website can say how many places are available on each event.

General notes
All members, friends and prospective members are invited onto any of the events. They can be booked via
the website
or by sending Gill a WhatsApp message on 07905922905
Once you have booked an event, if you need to cancel or change anything, please let Gill know via WhatsApp. If you get a thumbs up to your message, it means I have seen it.
When you have booked on an event via the website, you will get an email to confirm your booking. Save this email as it contains all the trip details, if you don’t receive an email, please contact Gill to confirm. Thank you.
For all events that state “please book your own ticket”, you need to RSVP to the event on the website as well as booking your own ticket so Gill knows you are going. This helps arrange car shares and ensure the outing can start on time.
Events for 2025 and 2026 are being put on the website as they are booked. Some may be popular and will sell out due to limited number of places available, so keep an eye on the website. As the saying goes, if you snooze, you lose!
If you have any questions, please talk to Gill or WhatsApp Gill on 07905922905
Please join the Social Events WhatsApp group to keep up to date with events between meetings. To join, please give your mobile number to Gill.
